How Dignity Reborn Starts

The opening of Dignity Reborn puts the audience inside the damage before anyone has time to explain it away.

Yet she found herself trapped under the constant disdain and quiet oppression of her daughterinlaw, Luna Wilson, stripped of even basic dignity in her own son’s home. One dinner, and a single boiled shrimp, ignited yearslongbottledup resentment.

Heartbroken, she dragged her suitcase out into the early hours of dawn and fled all the way to Miami, Florida. After more than thirtyfive years of teaching, retired educator Eleanor Bennett moved in with her son for her golden years.

That is the spine of Dignity Reborn: the people in the synopsis do not get to pretend the story started somewhere else.
