How The Wolf's Human Cub Starts

The opening of The Wolf's Human Cub puts the audience inside the damage before anyone has time to explain it away.

Rescued and raised by Freya, the fierce alpha of a mountain wolf pack, she grew up wild and unbroken. Ten years later, when hunters capture her wolf mother, Wren descends from the mountains to infiltrate the castle for the first time.

She is ten years old, petite and tan, with thick dark braids tied with a faded red ribbon, a wolf-tooth pendant at her chest, a short wolf-fur cloak, and weathered boots. Hidden beneath her bangs is the silver-grey wolf mark of her bloodline.

That is the spine of The Wolf's Human Cub: the people in the synopsis do not get to pretend the story started somewhere else.
