What Anniversary Betrayal Keeps Coming Back To

Strip away the spectacle and Anniversary Betrayal is still about the same wound.

Standing by the floortoceiling window inside the opulent Rook mansion, Rae Voss watched her husband, Kai Rook, roughly shove Stella into the backseat of a car down in the driveway. Ice flooded every vein in her body.

She spun on her heel and raced upstairs, locking herself inside their master bedroom. Tears burned her eyes as she dialed her mother.

That is the spine of Anniversary Betrayal: the people in the synopsis do not get to pretend the story started somewhere else.
