Where the Conflict in Betrayal Payback Breaks Open

Betrayal Payback is driven by a collision that was already underway before the first scene.

"It’s a boy and a girl—congratulations, twin boy and girl! " Freya Mercer lay weak on the hospital bed, gazing down at her two infants.

"Leo, Luna, your birth will change the fates of so many people. "It’s a boy and a girl—congratulations, twin boy and girl!

That is the spine of Betrayal Payback: the people in the synopsis do not get to pretend the story started somewhere else.
