Where the Conflict in Not His First Priority Breaks Open

Not His First Priority is driven by a collision that was already underway before the first scene.

Now, as she builds an untouchable life on her own terms, Ethan is left sobbing outside her locked door—but her mercy has already run dry. When Luna Bennett's husband, Ethan, abandoned his eight-month-pregnant wife to play the devoted hero for his friend's fragile widow, Clara, Luna thought the betrayal would break her.

That is the spine of Not His First Priority: the people in the synopsis do not get to pretend the story started somewhere else.
