Watch NowOne stretch of Wife He Defended carries more of the series than a longer recap would.
Luna Reed, wife of Jason Hayes, had been married for six years without conceiving. In truth, her mother-in-law Mabel Wilson had been lacing her daily tonic soup with long-acting contraceptives for years, and had even allowed her illegitimate daughter Stella Carter to publicly slap Luna when she was already two months pregnant.
That is the spine of Wife He Defended: the people in the synopsis do not get to pretend the story started somewhere else.
